Mrs. Crump's 8th art II-Clay Todems

 Clay Totems
Students started their Totems by rolling out slabs that they wrapped around a cylinder form.

Then students use gravity and form abstract forms to appear as an animal, face or figure.

Students then add detail to their abstract animal, figure or face by subtracting and adding clay.

After the Totems are fired they appear white.
Students painted the inside of their Totems black to prepare for the value study we will finish the Totems with.

The preschool class from WeeKare came to twin and made ghost's with their feet with Mrs. Hussey's ninth graders.

This fun Halloween projects started with painting little feet white.

Tickle Tickle

After their feet were painted students printed their feet on black canvas board.

After Students print their feet students added googly eyes, leaves, and spider webs to complete their Halloween ghosts.

Mrs. Hussey's class-Print Making

 Print Making
Students start by creating a draft of their idea. Then they draw their design on to the lynolium block.

Students then carve the lynolium blocks leaving the design they created higher than the background creating a negative  and positive space.
